Festival of Fairy Tales

January 30, 2010

The Junior League of Corpus Christi (JLCC) will host its fifth annual children’s themed Festival of Fairy Tales, Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010. Proceeds from these events will support JLCC’s current initiative of educating children and adults of the benefits of a healthy and active lifestyle to conquer childhood obesity through projects such as Kids in the Kitchen and Playground Pals.

Incorporating children’s well known fairy tales as a backdrop is the mission of the Festival of Fairy Tales co-chairs Michelle Markert and Marisela Palmatier. The Festival will take place on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010 at the American Bank Center from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Pre-sale tickets are $10 per child and include lunch, a book to take home, and a goody bag with an activity book and more. Lunch will be served from 11am-1pm. Tickets sold at the door are $12 per child. Adults accompanying children are free.

This interactive event will transport children and their imaginations into a world of activities, games and crafts that explore their favorite books. The children will interact with fairy tale characters and enjoy story time with local celebrity readers. Children are invited to come dressed as characters from their favorite stories.
