Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the difference between individual tickets, self-decorated tables, and JLCC-decorated tables?
A: Every year, FTB guests have 3 options: individual tickets for $100 each, self-decorated theme tables for $1,000 each, and JLCC-decorated non-theme tables for $1,500 each. If you want to attend the event solely for the food and entertainment, you may purchase individual tickets. You still will get heavy hors d'oeuvres, access to the silent auction and casino tables, hosted beer and wine from 7pm-9pm, and to see a show from The Spazmatics. Most FTB attendees choose to purchase a table, which seat 10 guests each. If you want your table to have a fairy tale theme, you will be in charge of your table decorations. This is what we mean by "self-decorated" - you choose your theme and will decorate as you wish! The majority of FTB guests hire outside decorating companies, but it is fun to build your own decor as well! (Click the links “FTB Themes” and "Past FTB Pictures" above for ideas on what themes to choose and how to decorate your table.) Finally, if you don't need a theme but still want a beautifully decorated table for you and your 9 friends, you can choose to have JLCC decorate it for you.
Q: What are you raising money for at Fairy Tale Ball?
A: FTB raises money for the various JLCC projects. Specifically, we choose projects to promote child welfare and develop the potential of women. To learn more about the specific focus areas and our current and past projects, please explore the "Community Impact" portion of our website.
Q: How do I purchase tickets? What is the process?
A: First, click the link above to purchase your tickets. If you are purchasing a table, you will need to pay for the table in full (either the $1,000 or $1,500). Second, please fill out the "FTB 2013 Reservation Form". You may either complete the form online, download the form and email it to fairytaleball@jlcc.org, OR print it out and mail it to the office at Junior League of Corpus Christi, 4050 Weber Rd., CC 78411. Only 1 Reservation Form should be completed per table. Please submit this Reservation Form ASAP to ensure your table theme is approved!
Q: I want a table of 20, not just 10! Can we combine 2 tables?
A: Absolutely! The more, the merrier! Just note that payment in full is required to reserve your tables. For 2 self-decorated theme tables it will be $2,000. For 2 JLCC-decorated non-theme tables it will be $3,000.
Q: I'm decorating my own table this year. I purchased my table for $1,000 and submitted my Reservation Form. How do I know if my theme is approved?
A: Someone from the FTB Committee will contact you within a week of receiving your Reservation Form. We will let you know if your table theme is approved. Themes are approved on a first-come, first-serve basis, so be sure to get your requests in early!
Q: Are there any guidelines or rules for decorating my own table? When can I start setting up?
A: There are some guidelines! Please click our "Self-Decorating 101" and “ABC Decorating Guidelines” links to read about tips, guidelines, and rules. These documents also include specific days and times when you can set up and tear down your table.
Q: I'd like to have a themed table, but don't have time to decorate it myself. Do you have any businesses you recommend to decorate it for me?
A: We do! La De Da Events is the JLCC-preferred table decorating business this year. They are offering special discounts on services if booked by December 1. Contact them at 361-884-5268 to reserve your special pricing today! *Bonus - if La De Da decorates your table, they will also tear it down Sunday morning so you can sleep in!
Q: I want JLCC to decorate my table for me. Do I get a theme?
A: Regular $1,500 tables will not receive a theme. We will decorate your table following an enchanted forest motif. We promise it will be beautiful!
Q: I purchased my tickets/table online. When do I receive my paper tickets?
A: Tickets will be mailed the first full week in January, January 7-11.
Q: I am attending the event and sitting at someone else's table. She purchased our table online already. When will I receive my paper ticket?
A: All tickets for a purchased table will be mailed to the designated Contact Person the first full week in January (January 7-11, 2013). Check with your Contact Person that week to be sure he/she has received your ticket(s).
Q: What is the attire for Fairy Tale Ball?
A: Black tie.
Q: What is the deadline for purchasing tickets/tables?
A: Tables are selling quickly! We are anticipating the event to sell out. Official ticket sales end January 2, 2013. Reserve your table today!
