On behalf of the Junior League of Corpus Christi, we would like to express our deepest condolences to the Corpus Christi Police Department and Simpson family on the loss of our civic leader, Chief Floyd Simpson.
Our members had the honor of knowing and working alongside this wonderful man and he will be missed by all. One fond memory was having him as a guest speaker at our general meeting in October 2013. Members were excited to hear from the new Chief in town and meet him in person. As he walked towards the podium in his uniform, we could feel his integrity and humble spirit instantly. As he addressed membership, you could hear a pin drop, because his presence was so captivating. His smile was infectious and we felt at ease knowing that the city of Corpus Christi was in good hands.
Chief Simpson was a dear friend and supporter of our organization, a trusted community leader and a public servant to all. The days ahead will be emotional and challenging for many and we pray especially for his wife, Tanya Simpson and children during this time.
Please join me in remembering Chief Floyd Simpson.
With deepest sympathy,
